Windsor, Ontario Photographer | Miss C. {Child Session}

Miss C.  |  Child Session

Throwback of Miss. C's session in Spring 2013! I didn't blog then but I think she deserves a spot on my new blog ;)

Miss C's mama is such a sweet young lady. Her mama shares my passion for photography, props (ya know, all the accessories!), vintage and all things girly! No doubt, they came to visit me with not only coffee but a load of outfits and accessories. Our collection combined engulfed my whole entire main floor as it was spilling with clothing, necklaces, headbands, you name it.

Welcome Miss C.  Simply adorable.

Adorable overalls were brought in by her fashionable mama. This sweet pink hat from my prop stash completed the cowgirl look!

Below. I don't think she new what to make of me lol. This image was shot as she was still warming up to me. I was asking Miss C. about her favourite cartoon show.

Serious cuteness! Miss C. you melt my heart. Anyone who brings me coffee in the morning just about melts my heart lol.

Miss C.

So...  Miss C.'s mama and I were having too much fun playing dress up. Her mama came up with this outfit. So cute right? The tiara actually belongs to Miss C's mama. Her mama wore it on her wedding day. So sweet!

Lovely. Precious. Sweet.

Hope to meet again Miss C. And Mama, we need to catch up over coffee ;)

All Things Cake | Ode to Smash Cakes and a Cupcake {Windsor, Ontario}

All Things Cake

I love all things cake. In fact, I have a Pinterest board dedicated just to cake, specifically different themes and designs. My love for food and desire for dessert is probably why I enjoy photographing cake smash session so much. These little birthday celebrations are so fun and festive. I do cake smashes for my daughter just for fun all the time. It's a blast!

My newest cake smash ad.

One of the neat little duties I have is to coordinate the cake. In this case, cupcake.

I recently relocated from London, Ontario. In London, I would always order smash cakes from the same reliable cakery. Now, the research began all over again as I settled in to my new city, my hometown of Windsor, Ontario. You would think finding a baker to make smash cakes at a affordable price would be easy - think again! I have been sending my hubby on a detour to Candies Cakery whenever he is there for business. I can always rely on her for decor and price.

Recently, I thought about doing something different and still sweet so instead of a cake I decided to do a large cupcake. I was going for classic, simple yet fun. I found it. Behold, 3 Girls and a Cupcake. They are like cupcake gurus. Just looking at these dreamy fluffy bad boys makes my tummy flip and growl. Packaged to perfection and delivered right to my door - this place should be on everyone's speed dial.

Above: The individual cupcake for The Cupcake Smash. This was fantastic to present to my client before I placed it on to the cake stand. Picture perfect.

That was robin's egg blue, fluffy, creamy, sweet and delightful icing with sprinkles on top.

The large cupcake really turned out to be make a simple, classic and fun statement for a little guy's 1st birthday.

Aha, behold this delightful Spring inspired cakelette. I am koo koo for fondant art! I gotta learn how to do this!!

I usually get vanilla cake for all my cake smashes - less potential for allergic reactions. I just love classic vanilla cake too. Classic vanilla cake always reminds me of my birthday party at McDonald's when I was a wee one.

Below: Hot pink, black and white. My client handled the colour scheme and decor with this one. She went bold, fun yet classy. I'm lovin' the big "1".

The tattoo cake for a Rockabilly theme cake smash. Isn't the blue here just gorgeous?!

Cakes nowadays are so artful. The options are limitless. Any theme imagined can be done.
Food + Art = I'm there!

Hungry for cake now? You gotta be!

Windsor, Ontario Baby Photographer | Baby Session

This is a oldie but goodie post :)

This little angel baby was brought in for images at 7 weeks new. I understand some people miss the opportunity to book newborn sessions at their prime time, so I agreed to take images of this cutie pie anyways. This bundle of joy arrived with her whole family for a child, baby and family session.

Here she is at 7 weeks new, soundly sleeping. Shhhh....

Floral halos and floral crowns have been all the rage these last couple of seasons so of course, we decided to adorn this little love with one. We were relishing this sleepy moment and did not want to disrupt her brief slumber. Although I didn't get this wrap tightly around her, I think this bahama mama blue, stretch knit wrap is just so lovely on her!

Sleepy shots are actually much harder to get by the time your little newborn is this age. AT 7 weeks new, routines and appetite set in. In their awake state, they are much more alert. They are also not nearly as flexible and posable as babies under 11 days old therefore they are stretchy, as seen below, and do not hold a curled womblike position.

Peek-a-boo! I see you.
Sleeping beauty has awaken.

At 7 weeks new, she was kind of spilling out of my single newb prop baskets lol.

As you can see, she's as alert as can be. A smart one, I think this cutie pie will be.

Pretty girl!

I really wanted to please this cutie pie's mommy and get some awesome newborn type shots like she hoped for. At almost 2 months old, the newborn poses were challenging. I switched into older baby posing techniques to finish off her session.

Technically, in the photography world, newborns are considered 15 days and younger. While I will sometimes agree to take on babies for newborn-like poses, I often educate the parents about the challenges and difficulties in posing baby after 15 days old. Both parents and photographer will be working extra hard to get those sought after images with no guarantee that your little one will cooperate.

Newborn sessions are one of my faves!

Birthday Boy! Cupcake Smash

This little guy turns the Big One! He is my first client to try out our new Cupcake Smash.
I love planning for smash sessions because they are so festive and fun. This mini birthday celebration is just as festive as our regular cake smash sessions but smash time ends sooner as there is obviously less cake to break.

This sweet muffin sized cupcake with loads of fluffy icing was created by 3 Girls and a Cupcake Ltd. of Windsor, Ontario.

This little guy was simply adorable. He had the biggest, deepest, doe like eyes ever!

Uh-oh! Upside down cupcake.

Ya-hoo!!

I just love the blue coloured icing with multicoloured sprinkles. Such a classic little combination!
I think he likes it lol

A successful smash! Good job Mr. N.

Enjoy your 1st birthday...  Happy Birthday!

Simple. Cute. Cupcake Smash.

Book Yours!
